Frequently Asked Questions

To get started, please contact us here and share the type of services you are seeking, along with your general availability. We carefully review each inquiry to ensure we are well positioned to meet your needs. If so, we will reach out with our current availability to schedule an initial diagnostic appointment, where we will take time to understand your needs, goals, and concerns, and recommend a personalized treatment plan.

If Movere is not the right fit for your specific needs, we will do our best to provide referrals to other trusted providers who may be better suited to support you or your family.

We offer appointments Monday through Thursday, with availability from morning through mid-afternoon (Eastern Time), as well as Saturday morning appointments. Most clients are seen in a consistent weekly 50-minute appointment time, which helps support continuity and meaningful progress in treatment. Depending on clinical needs and goals, biweekly sessions may also be appropriate in some cases.

For reasons of accessibility and convenience, only online psychotherapy services are offered at this time.

We firmly believe that we can offer the best services when we have the freedom to structure our sessions and treatment plans according to your or your child’s needs, rather than what health insurance policies dictate or are willing to cover.

Like most private practices, we operate as an out-of-network provider.  This means that we do not participate with any type of health insurance plan.  Our clients are required to pay therapy fees in full before the start of each session.  Should our clients wish to file for out-of-network reimbursement, we will provide a superbill containing all necessary information for their health insurance company, such as charges, diagnostic codes and service codes.  Clients are ultimately responsible for submitting all required documents and claims directly to insurance.

Prior to scheduling an appointment with us, we recommend clients contact their insurance provider to inquire about out-of-network mental health policies and the required documentation for claims reimbursement.

We recognize that beginning therapy is both a personal and financial investment.  As a specialty practice, our rates reflect the expertise involved in delivering personalized, evidence-based psychological care, and are comparable to other out-of-network clinical psychologists in the Washington, D.C. area who offer specialized treatment.

Initial diagnostic appointment (60 minutes): $300 USD
Follow-up psychotherapy sessions (50 minutes): $270 USD

Many clients with the Foreign Service Benefit Plan receive substantial reimbursement for out-of-network mental health services, which can significantly reduce their out-of-pocket costs. If you have FSBP or another health insurance plan, we encourage you to confirm your out-of-network mental health benefits, including your reimbursement rate and claims submission process, so you have a clear understanding of your coverage before beginning services.

For questions about rates or additional services, please email cperez@moveretherapy.com.

While we are unable to prescribe medication, we will gladly collaborate with your medical provider.  In addition, we can also recommend psychiatrists in the Washington, D.C. area.

If you are living overseas with the U.S. Foreign Service, we typically are able to provide services.

This will depend on whether we are allowed to provide services in the country where you are residing.  We will look into the regulations of your location to determine whether we can offer our services, recognizing that many countries have minimal regulations governing mental health.

Outside of the United States, we are also licensed to provide services in Colombia.

We are committed to maintaining the highest standard of care and ensuring the safety and well-being of our clients.  While online therapy provides a flexible and convenient way to address various mental health difficulties, certain concerns are best addressed at a higher level of care or through in-person sessions.  We do not treat the following concerns: serious and persistent mental health illnesses, eating disorders, substance abuse disorders and high-risk behaviors such as self-harm, harm to others, or suicidal behaviors.  This list is not exhaustive, and we carefully evaluate each prospective client’s needs to ensure Movere is the right fit.  If you are unsure about the suitability of online therapy for your specific concerns, please contact us and we will be happy to provide orientation.
