We provide expert support for the unique challenges children face during this developmental stage. For children ages 2 to 6 with frequent emotional outbursts and/or difficulty following through with adult requests, we offer parent-based treatment approaches such as Parent-Child Interaction Therapy (PCIT). These types of interventions allow caregivers to develop effective responses to their child’s behavior, while enhancing the parent-child relationship. This in turn, often leads to meaningful improvements in the child’s ability to self-regulate and follow-through with requests.
We also address various manifestations of early childhood anxiety and help families navigate common life transitions. For example, preparing for daycare or preschool, welcoming a new sibling, and managing changes in routine or family dynamics.
